Day 1

Upon arrival at Bogotá Airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation in the city centre. After a few hours relaxing, you will be visiting Palo Quemado market and Montserrate by cable car. You will also visit the Gold Museum as well as La Candelaria, the old town and colonial heart of the city. Afterwards, have the evening at leisure. We recommend Area C in La Candelaria for an authentic Colombian dinner.

Day 2

After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the village of Villa de Leyva, in the heart of the stunning Boyacá region. You will be dropped a few miles from the village to do a 4-hour hike to the picturesque village itself. After reaching the peak, descend through the valley to Villa de Leyva, visiting the pretty Plaza Mayor de Villa.

Day 3

Day 4

You will be transferred to Puracé National Natural Park, where you can hike to the top of an inactive volcano, seeing hot springs and waterfalls en-route. You will return to Popayán for lunch, followed by an afternoon tour of the city itself. Visit colonial treasures, such as the Cathedral, home to the emerald-studded Crown of the Andes, taken from Inca Emperor Atahualpa. The city is also a UNESCO city of gastronomy, due to its preservation of traditional indigenous recipes and cooking methods, meaning it is dotted with excellent and authentic restaurants.

Day 5

This morning you will drive to your accommodation in Cali, with lunch on arrival. In the afternoon you will be taken on a tour of the city, visiting the monument of Christ the King and the Ermita de Cali, enjoying a stroll along the banks of Río Cali and soaking up the atmosphere in bohemian San Antonio district. In the evening , enjoy a salsa show in the self-proclaimed home of salsa or partake in a lesson yourself. Dinner can be enjoyed at a number of world-class restaurants in this cosmopolitan, modern city.

Day 6

After breakfast you will be transferred to your accommodation in Manizales, in the heart of Colombia’s UNESCO-recognised coffee country, home to rolling hills covered in verdant coffee plantations and soaring mountains. During whale-watching season, there is the option of a day-trip to the Pacific coast, where you can see humpback whales and their young (July-October)

Day 7

You will be taken to Los Nevados National Park, where you can enjoy a hike through other-worldly, wild landscapes with unique flora and fauna, such as the spectacled bear, cougar and mountain tapir. You will also be able to see the impressive 5,300m volcano Nevado del Ruiz, which dominates the landscape.

Day 8

You will be taken on a coffee-plantation tour, where you will learn about the coffee growing process and be able to sample a few different varieties. You will continue on to your accommodation in Medellin. The afternoon will be at leisure to explore the city.

Day 9

After a morning at leisure, you will be transferred to Medellin airport for a lunchtime flight to the quaint colonial town of Santa Marta, nestled on the Caribbean coast. Spend the next two days relaxing on the beach and enjoys the luxuries and amenities of the hotel.

Day 10

At Leisure. There are a number of local indigenous markets and towns in the area which you can visit. The almost mythical Ciudad Perdida (Lost City) can also be visited on an adventurous 5-day trek through untouched mountains and indigenous settlements or by helicopter from above.

Day 11

This morning you will be transferred to your accommodation in the historic city of Cartagena, home to 500-year old churches, cobbled streets and fortified walls.

Day 12

Over the next few days you can spend the time wandering around the markets and streets of the city, soaking up its distinct Caribbean-colonial charm, or relax on a number of exceptional beaches in the area. On one of the days you will be taken to the Rosario Islands, a haven for marine wildlife, where you will be taken snorkelling or diving in one of the most important and diverse marine reserves on the continent.

Day 13

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your domestic flight to Leticia, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

Day 14

Over the next few days you can enjoy day and night hikes through the jungle, canoe trips on the river, a boat trip to spot pink and grey dolphins, a zipline through the jungle, fishing for piranha and visiting a number of indigenous tribes in the area.

After breakfast on your final morning you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home, via Bogota, where we will bid you farewell.
