Day 2

Welcome to Africa! After disembarking from the aircraft you will be met by our Customer Service Manager who will lead you to clear customs and immigration formalities and proceed to the arrivals lounge. You will be assisted to your transfer vehicles.

Hemingway’s Nairobi is situated in the suburb of Karen and surrounded by the thriving community of this bustling little village. This plantation-style property is airy and spacious with 45 rooms. Its 80 squared meter bedrooms each have a private balcony overlooking the iconic silhouette of the Ngong Hills. So while you’re reposing in the spa or discussing the delicacies of the a la carte menu with our Michelin-starred chef in the private dining room, back in your suite your butler will have dimmed the lights, adjusted your personalised pillows, set out your nightcap and arranged the morning’s outing to the game park down to the last detail. Lofty, expansive high ceilinged rooms, bright en-suite bathrooms. The en-suite bathrooms are lined with hand cut Italian marble, walk in wardrobe, double vanity, separate toilet, bath and shower. 2 of the rooms are Penthouse style Presidential Suites and 43 junior suites. Your attentive butler is on hand to rustle up a treat from pantry. Beyond the balustrade of your private
balcony, we’ve chosen for you a view of the Green Hills of Africa.

After a morning at leisure You will be transferred to Karen Blixen Museum and Giraffe Centre. Follow the footsteps of Karen Blixen as you visit the Karen Blixen Museum, contained in the house that was her home for many years. A considerable effort was undertaken to retrieve much of the original furniture, which was sold off upon her return to Denmark. The area is now a green residential neighbourhood, named Karen, in her honour.

The tour continues with a drive through the residential area of Langata to the Giraffe Centre, situated in a rare indigenous forest on Nairobi’s western boundary. The Centre is located on the estate of Betty Leslie-Melville's Giraffe Manor and is the headquarters for the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife and the home; of Daisy, the famous Rothschild giraffe.
A specially designed observation platform offers you the opportunity to feed the full grown giraffe from your own hands. It’s an experience you won’t forget. Be sure to bring your camera for some superb photographic opportunities.

You will enjoy lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden

Day 7

After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for Amboseli National Park situated at the foothills of the Majestic Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest mountain in Africa. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. Depart for an afternoon game-drive to view wildlife against the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Afternoon safari

Tortilis Camp is named after the Tortilis Acacia (the Umbrella Thorn Tree), a charming rustic tented camp built into the side of a hill, facing the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. As you walk into camp, your first view across the tree-studded plains towards the snow-capped mountain stops you in your tracks. The camp nestles in abundant trees and shrubs, bustling with bird life.
Amboseli is a place of contrasts: during the hot dry season, mirages appear on the dusty horizon; year around, the elephant herds follow their ancient rituals, migrating daily from the Tortilis forests to the swamps. In the green season water birds: Flamingo, Pelican. Egyptian Geese flock to the park and the arid plains turn emerald green overnight.
In Amboseli, the traditional cultural heritage is strong: the Maasai communities adhere to an age-old lifestyle, herding and trading cattle; a life which they will share with you in their Manyattas (Maasai homes), a circle of dung and mud huts protected by a barrier of thorns against the predators.
