Gaaf Dhaal Atoll

Gaaf Dhaal Atoll (South Huvadhoo Atoll) is one of two separate atolls making up the south central administrative region of the Maldives. It comprises over 150 islands, of which only 10 are populated. A number of these feature important Buddhist archaeological sites, including one of the largest pagodas in the Maldives. The region offers excellent fishing, surfing and snorkelling and charters can be organised to some of its more remote reaches, although certain areas are restricted for tourists.
