VANCOUVER & VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA
Winter / Spring
Proposed Dates : 10 Days in Winter or Spring
Cost: £790 estimate for 7 days. An additional £150 estimate for an additional 3 days to SKI WHISTLER!
The arrangements in Canada will be handled by a local sports travel company, who specialise in arranging incoming sports tours, especially for visiting schools.
The hosting Clubs were all visited by the
Richmond First XV in their highly successful and acclaimed tour of
June 2002
The price includes scheduled Air Canada return flight, all games and billeting arrangements, hotel accommodation for a specified number of parents, all bus transportation, airport fees, airline and other taxes, park fees, ferry fares, whale watching, entrance to the BC Museum. The additional amount includes a full ski package at Whistler.
The price does not include meals, or admission fees to the Aquarium and other attractions which we may or may not do.
It is subject to exchange rate changes v the Canadian dollar ( currently estimated to be £1 = C$2.05), and to changes in Taxation.
PROPOSED ITINERARY (This may change slightly)
Day 1
10.35 Arrive YVR - AC 831. Met by owners of local sports travel company after clearing Customs
12.00 Transfer by bus to hotel accommodation in downtown Vancouver, arriving approximately 12:30.
Lunch and afternoon at leisure in Vancouver
Day 2
10:00 Bus pick-up at hotel for city tour.
11:30 Arrive Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park. Visit the Aquarium and Totem Pole Park.
13:00 Board bus to continue tour of Stanley Park. Suggested stop at Prospect Point for lunch and
photograph opportunities.
14:00 Leave Prospect Point area. Continue through the park leaving via Beach Avenue. Travel to Connaught Park via Burrard Bridge and Kitsilano waterfront.
15:00 Arrive at Connaught Park for training session.
16:30 Meet hosts from Meralomas RFC. Boys billeted. Team staff transferred to local hotel accommodation.
Day 3
08:30 Visiting boys and team staff arrive at Connaught Park.
09:00 Visiting boys and team staff board bus for visit to North Shore mountains and attractions.
12:30 Arrive at Park Royal Centre for lunch and possible shopping.
13:45 Board bus for return to Connaught Park.
15:00 Arrive at Connaught Park to prepare for games.
16:00 Visiting RFC XVs vs. Meralomas RFC XVs.
18:00 Refreshments and post-game activities. Boys billeted. Visiting team staff transferred to local hotel accommodation.
Day 4
08:15 Visiting boys and team staff arrive at Connaught Park.
08:45 Visiting boys and team staff board bus for a.m. visit to Granville Island.
09:15 Arrive Granville Island - sightseeing, shopping.
11:00 Board bus for transfer to Tsawwassen Ferry terminal.
12:00 Arrive at ferry terminal and prepare for ferry at 13:00 for Vancouver Island (Swartz Bay).
Lunch on the ferry.
14:35 Arrive Swartz Bay and board bus for transfer to Victoria with sightseeing and Victoria city tour en route.
17:00 Arrive at Vancouver Island RFC club facilities to meet hosts. Boys billeted. Team staff transferred to Victoria hotel accommodation.
Day 5
08:15 Visiting boys and team staff arrive at Vancouver Island RFC.
08:45 Board bus for transfer to downtown Victoria. Morning visit to B.C. Provincial Museum and Inner Harbour attractions.
12:30 Lunch at one of the facilities on the Inner Harbour.
13:45 Visiting boys and team staff board bus for return to Vancouver Island RFC.
14:30 Arrive at Vancouver Island RFC and prepare for games.
16:00 Visiting RFC XVs vs. Vancouver Island RFC XVs.
18:00 Refreshments and post-game activities. Boys billeted. Team staff transferred to Victoria hotel accommodation.
Day 6
08:15 Visiting boys and team staff arrive at Vancouver Island RFC.
08:45 Visiting boys and team staff board bus for transfer to whalewatching location in Victoria. Bags stored at whalewatching facility. 
09:45 Board boat(s) for whalewatching expedition.
12:15 Return from whalewatching trip. Lunch at one of the Inner Harbour facilities.
13:15 Collect bags and board bus for transfer to Swartz Bay ferry terminal.
14:00 Arrive at Swartz Bay ferry terminal and prepare to board ferry sailing at 15:00.
16:35 Arrive at Tsawwassen ferry terminal and board bus for transfer to Capilano RFC.
18:15 Arrive at Capilano RFC to meet hosts. Boys billeted. Team staff transferred to North Vancouver hotel accommodation.
Day 7
09:30 Visiting boys and team staff arrive at Capilano RFC to prepare for games.
11:00 Visiting RFC XVs vs. Capilano RFC XVs.
13:00 Refreshments and post-game activities. Thanks and good-byes to Capilano hosts.
15:00 Visiting boys and team staff board bus for transfer to Whistler hotel (or YVR).
16:30 Arrive at Whistler Village. Boys and team staff in Whistler hotel accommodation.
Day 8
08:00 Visiting boys and team staff go to ski company facility for instruction and full day of skiing/boarding on Whistler/Blackcomb Mountain. Lunch facilities available on the mountain.
15:00 Mountain ski facilities close.
Day 9
No clock! Group free to avail themselves of all (?) that Whistler has to offer! Adventure Park - Mountain biking - hiking - shopping - recovering !
Day 10
10:30 Check out of Whistler hotel and board bus for transfer to Vancouver. (Opportunity to visit Britannia Mines and Museum en route. Add 1.5 hours).
11:30 Stop for lunch at Squamish.
12:15 Board bus for continuation of journey to Vancouver.
13:15 Arrive at Vancouver downtown hotel for one night stay - boys and team staff.
Day 11
Bags stored in hotel facility. Half-day free for last minute shopping and ...?
15:00 Board bus for transfer to YVR.
15:30 Arrive YVR and prepare for flight AC 854, Vancouver - London, Heathrow.
