ALBERTA & BRITISH COLUMBIA Price: The arrangements in Canada will be handled by a local travel company, who specialise in arranging incoming tours. The price includes scheduled Air Canada return & internal flights, accommodation, Avis Group B car rental, entrance to Banff National Park & Columbia Icefields, and the TideRip Grizzly & Whale watch. The price does not include meals, golf, admission fees to museums or other attractions. It is subject to exchange rate changes v the Canadian dollar (currently estimated to be £1 = C$2), and to changes in Taxation. PROPOSED ITINERARY Day 1 Calgary is a major city in western Canada and is famous for oil, gas and cattle. The annual "Stampede" is held every July. On a normal day you can see the skyline of the Canadian Rockies, to where you will be going next. Evening free; Dinner out; Big Steak Day 2 After lunch drive to Banff. 16 th Avenue to Trans-Canada Highway. Allow 2 hours. Banff is in the centre of the Canadian Rockies and you will enjoy a mountain experience like no where else. The People are also exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Check in one of the Mountain Lodges, Banff, for 3 night stay Day 3 Kananaskis (golf). Kananaskis hosted the G8 summit last year and is a world famous retreat. Day 4 Day 5 Flight AC 213 to Vancouver (YVR). Departs 13.00; Arrives 13.25. (One hour time difference). Collect another rental car. Check into West End hotel for 3 night stay. Vancouver is one of the most scenic cities in the world and its situation rivals Cape Town, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Rio and Sydney. It constantly tops surveys for the World's "Most Liveable Cities". Once you have been here once you will want to go back. Day 6 & 7 Day 8 Check into Ocean Village Resort at MacKenzie Beach, for 2 night stay. Tofino is Canada's top surfing beach and storms here are truly spectacular. Hopefully you will also enjoy some fine weather to enable you to explore its unspoilt beaches and forests. Day 9 Explore area from Tofino to Uclulet. Day 10 Telegraph Cove is a delightful old harbour which will remind you of a Cornish fishing village. In the season loads of Killer Whales pass through the Johnston Straits offshore. On the mainland side across the channel, there is a wilderness at Knight Inlet where you can see Grizzly Bears in the wild. The tour is of course escorted by experts who know the bears well. You will be safe. Day 11 Day 12 Drive from Westview to Saltery Bay for ferry crossing to Earl's Cove Drive from Earl's Cove to Langdale for ferry crossing to Horse Shoe Bay A very scenic drive with short ferry crossings to break your drive. Splendid views over Vancouver Island on the other side of the channel. Drive from Horse Shoe Bay to Whistler. Check into Hotel or Lodge in Whistler Village for 3 night stay. Day 13 & 14 Day 15 Return to Vancouver via Squamish and Furry Creek Golf. Return rental car to YVR. Depart on AC 854, 17.55 Day 16 OPTIONS Day 8 & 9 Day 12 & 15 NB: Float plane (seaplane) hops are possible in lieu of ferries to and from "The Island". The Way to Go!
