depending upon availability, including Calgary to Vancouver.
Ground Arrangements £875 - 1,100

The arrangements in Canada will be handled by a local travel company, who specialise in arranging incoming tours.

The price includes scheduled Air Canada return & internal flights, accommodation, Avis Group B car rental, entrance to Banff National Park & Columbia Icefields, and the TideRip Grizzly & Whale watch.

The price does not include meals, golf, admission fees to museums or other attractions.

It is subject to exchange rate changes v the Canadian dollar (currently estimated to be £1 = C$2), and to changes in Taxation.

PROPOSED ITINERARY

Day 1
Depart London Heathrow 13.15 on AC 851 and arrive Calgary (YYC) 15.35 (7 hours time difference).
Pick up rental car from airport; check into Hotel in the City Centre.

Calgary is a major city in western Canada and is famous for oil, gas and cattle. The annual "Stampede" is held every July. On a normal day you can see the skyline of the Canadian Rockies, to where you will be going next.

Evening free; Dinner out; Big Steak

Day 2
Sightsee Calgary; Ride to the top of the Tower; Visit Au Claire market

After lunch drive to Banff. 16 th Avenue to Trans-Canada Highway. Allow 2 hours.
Watch out for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police en route!

Banff is in the centre of the Canadian Rockies and you will enjoy a mountain experience like no where else. The People are also exceptionally friendly and welcoming.

Check in one of the Mountain Lodges, Banff, for 3 night stay

Day 3
Visit Banff and environs; Sulphur Mountain, Hot Springs, Canmore.

Kananaskis (golf). Kananaskis hosted the G8 summit last year and is a world famous retreat.

Day 4
Rocky Mountains. Visit Columbia Icefields and Lake Louise. All Day.
You will not find scenery like this elsewhere. The icefields are the largest in Canada. Ride on to the glacier aboard the Snocoach with its 8ft. wheels

Day 5
Return to YYC. Return rental car.

Flight AC 213 to Vancouver (YVR). Departs 13.00; Arrives 13.25. (One hour time difference). Collect another rental car. Check into West End hotel for 3 night stay.

Vancouver is one of the most scenic cities in the world and its situation rivals Cape Town, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Rio and Sydney. It constantly tops surveys for the World's "Most Liveable Cities". Once you have been here once you will want to go back.

Day 6 & 7
At leisure in Vancouver. Visit Downtown, West End, Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park, Granville Island, Stanley Park, the Aquarium, & Grouse Mountain.

Day 8
Drive to Horse Shoe Bay ferry terminal for crossing to Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. Cross the island to Tofino via Port Alberni, Coombes & Cathedral Grove.

Check into Ocean Village Resort at MacKenzie Beach, for 2 night stay.

Tofino is Canada's top surfing beach and storms here are truly spectacular. Hopefully you will also enjoy some fine weather to enable you to explore its unspoilt beaches and forests.

Day 9

Explore area from Tofino to Uclulet.

Day 10
Drive to Telegraph Cove via Port Alberni, Parksville and Campbell River. Check into Telegraph Cove Resort for 2 night stay.

Telegraph Cove is a delightful old harbour which will remind you of a Cornish fishing village. In the season loads of Killer Whales pass through the Johnston Straits offshore. On the mainland side across the channel, there is a wilderness at Knight Inlet where you can see Grizzly Bears in the wild. The tour is of course escorted by experts who know the bears well. You will be safe.

Day 11
Day trip by boat to Knight Inlet for Grizzly Bear & Whale Watching. Depart 07.30; Return 16.30

Day 12
Check out early. Drive to Comox (Little River) ferry terminal for 10.10 crossing to Westview (Powell River).(Sunshine Coast)

Drive from Westview to Saltery Bay for ferry crossing to Earl's Cove

Drive from Earl's Cove to Langdale for ferry crossing to Horse Shoe Bay

A very scenic drive with short ferry crossings to break your drive. Splendid views over Vancouver Island on the other side of the channel.

Drive from Horse Shoe Bay to Whistler. Check into Hotel or Lodge in Whistler Village for 3 night stay.

Day 13 & 14
Whistler! -World Famous Ski Resort and location for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Enjoy the multitude of summer activities in this year round centre. Enjoy Mountain Biking, Golf, White water rafting, gliding, Quad biking, Mountain hiking.

Day 15

Return to Vancouver via Squamish and Furry Creek Golf. Return rental car to YVR. Depart on AC 854, 17.55

Day 16
Arrive London Heathrow 11.35.

OPTIONS
Day 5 & 6
Travel from Banff to Vancouver via Luxury Train "Rocky Mountaineer" through the Rockies. Gold Leaf class. 2 Day and one overnight trip. One of the most famous Railway journeys in the world.
Additional Cost per person: £750

Day 8 & 9
Stay in Victoria, rather than Tofino. No extra cost.
Victoria is the Capital City of British Columbia. Its British heritage is evident, it will remind you of the more upmarket English south coast resorts, and you can enjoy Tea in the Empress Hotel, which we shall have to book for you in advance.

Day 12 & 15
Return trip to Whistler on the new dome train "Whistler Mountaineer". Unbelievably scenic and the train will slow down for photo opportunities.
Additional Cost per person £150

NB: Float plane (seaplane) hops are possible in lieu of ferries to and from "The Island". The Way to Go! Save on the distances and see BC's wonderful scenery from the air. Additional costs tba.
